IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT PIKE CO. ANIMAL CONTROL

There have been several posts lately about abandoned animals showing up at Pike County residences and people not knowing what to do.

We have NO animal control and the County Commissioners do not seem to understand the impact this makes on Pike's citizens. That is, unless, they hear loud and clear from you.
So, if you have or have recently had a stray show up and you don't know what to do, please call the commissioners at:

Carol Bass 770-884-0717
Tamra Jarrett 706-646-3949
Tommy Powers 770-567-3747
James Jenkins 770-227-2147

The Animal Control Officer is David Allen 770-567-2007 Ext #2. Even though there are no ordinances in place for Mr. Allen to enforce, it's still important to contact him so he can report to the commissioners and help them understand the severity of this issue.

Also contact the Sheriff's Office, they are already keeping a log of lost and found pets. Furthermore, GA state law states that it is illegal to dump animals, so if you see someone dumping animals, please report them to the Sheriff's office.

Please continue to post lost/found/stray animals on Coco's & FPCA's Facebook pages or contact us here. Although we cannot help every animal in need, we are accumulating the information to help assist the commission make important animal control decisions.

About Us

Coco's Cupboard Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit humane society. Our goal is to help reduce the number of abandoned pets in Pike County, one of many Georgia counties with no animal control.

We are currently Pike County's go to resource for assisting families with financial hardship or other extreme circumstances that need help keeping caring for their pets during their hard times. We also support low cost spay/neuter programs in our community. We have helped hundreds of families neuter their pets and prevent unwanted litters. Our goal is to continue to sponsor animals in need of spay/neuter to help curb overpopulation. We are run on volunteer man power and donations only, so our resources are limited.
